London Business School and Emeritus launch Chief Investment Officer Programme

The nine-month programme, starting in June, will combine live online teaching with a London campus immersion for senior investment leaders focused on capital allocation, governance and enterprise strategy

London Business School Executive Education and Emeritus have launched a new Chief Investment Officer Programme aimed at senior investment professionals seeking to advance into institutional leadership roles.

The nine-month programme will start on 29 June this year and combine live online learning with an on-campus immersion in London, according to the announcement.

According to London Business School, the course “empowers senior investment executives to transform into institutional leaders who can combine strategic foresight with governance excellence and steward capital with clarity and purpose”.

The programme is aimed at professional asset and wealth managers, private and family capital leaders, and sovereign and institutional investors.

Participants will take part in live online sessions, case simulations and peer discussions, including the London campus immersion, where they will engage and network with faculty, industry experts and global peers.

On completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion and a pathway to selected London Business School alumni benefits.

Francisco Gomes, Faculty Director and Professor of Finance, said: “Markets are changing fast with new challenges and opportunities arising from fintech, decentralised finance, machine learning, AI and digital assets.

“The Chief Investment Officer Programme helps senior investment leaders fulfil the evolving demands of the CIO role: sharper investment judgement, understanding of current market trends and developments, stronger governance and the ability to lead capital with clarity and purpose.”

Mike Malefakis, President of University Partnerships at Emeritus, added: “We are delighted to collaborate with London Business School Executive Education to equip senior investment leaders with the judgement, governance and leadership needed to steward their organisations with clarity and purpose.

“With LBS faculty and a blend of live online and on-campus learning, participants can navigate AI, digital assets and sustainability to build resilient long-term strategies.”
