Rixos opens second property in Egyptian holiday city served by direct flights from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Glasgow

Hurghada has gained another major Red Sea resort as British holidaymakers continue to drive demand for Egypt’s year-round sun, beaches and all-inclusive breaks.

Rixos Hotels Egypt has opened a 442-room property in the resort city, seven kilometres from Hurghada International Airport and beside its existing Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas.

The launch comes as more than one million British travellers visit Egypt each year, with Hurghada increasingly competing with Mediterranean resorts for families, couples and winter-sun travellers.

The Egyptian city is served by direct flights from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Glasgow, making it one of the easier Red Sea destinations to reach from the UK.

The new Rixos Premium Magawish Bay View includes rooms, suites and villas, with some suites extending to 240 square metres.

Its higher-end Skyline Suites include private pools, terraces and Red Sea views, while the resort also has 17 private pool villas.

Facilities include nine swimming pools, an infinity pool, direct marina access, beach access, water sports and an equestrian centre offering horse riding along the shoreline.

Guests can also use restaurants and facilities at the neighbouring Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas, creating a larger combined resort complex on the Red Sea coast.

The company said the development was aimed at rising demand for premium all-inclusive holidays from the UK and wider European market.
