The Mediterranean Conference Centre (MCC) has become firmly established as one of Europe’s most impressive centres for meetings and events. At the heart of the centre’s popularity is a fascinating historic legacy and incredible medieval architecture. For over two centuries the building that now houses the Mediterranean Conference Centre was the Sacra Infermeria or Holy Infirmary of the Order of Saint John. Constructed in the latter part of the 16th Century, this historic treasure has witnessed incredible changes: from the Order of Saint John, to the occupation of Napoleon Bonaparte, and the rigours of two world wars.
This unique conference centre is set in a quiet corner of Valletta and is a world away from the formal surroundings of corporate meeting places. The Mediterranean Conference Centre combines all the benefits of ultra-modern technology with an oasis of historic tranquillity.
The centre boasts a total of eight halls and eight syndicate rooms covering an area of 7,000 sqm. The halls vary in size and are suitable for a range of events. The largest and most impressive, Republic Hall, seats 1,400 in theatre style whereas the smallest, La Cassiere caters for 60 people. Each meeting hall is equipped with its own sound, lighting and climate control. Conference facilities include permanent installations for simultaneous interpretation for up to six languages, ADSL, wi-fi as well as audio-visual equipment. The centre can accommodate over 2,300 delegates in all the conference halls.
Sacra Infermeria HallAmong the impressive list of clients and events are: CHOGM 2005, CHOGM 2015, Valletta Summit on Migration 2015, EU Presidency Meetings and Gala Dinners 2017, 7th World Meeting on Pharmaceutics, Biopharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, Beneteau, Texaco, Ford, Citroen, Mazda, ICI, IBM, Ericsson, Pfizer, Philips, Glaxo Wellcome to name but a few.
No matter the size or type of event – from a small presentation to a large conference, a product launch, exhibition or even a theatrical performance – the Mediterranean Conference Centre can cater for all of your requirements.
