Julian Doyle is a celebrated British filmmaker, editor and author whose four-decade career spans some of the most iconic works in modern cinema. Best known for his long-standing collaboration with Monty Python, he played a key creative role in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Life of Brian, and The Meaning of Life, as well as editing and shooting the visual effects for Terry Gilliam’s Brazil.

Beyond Python, Julian has directed acclaimed feature films including Chemical Wedding (co-written with Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson) and Love Potion, and has helmed music videos for artists such as Kate Bush and Iron Maiden. His pop video work has earned multiple awards, including for Cloudbusting, starring Donald Sutherland.

Julian is also an accomplished writer, with titles including The Gospel According to Monty Python and the Sherlock Holmes novel The Jericho Manuscript. His latest film, Twilight of the Gods, explores the philosophical clash between Richard Wagner and Friedrich Nietzsche. A regular guest lecturer and keynote speaker, Julian contributes to The European on cinema, culture and the enduring legacy of storytelling on screen.
