Big Four firm re-elects regional chairman for three more years as demand grows for AI, cyber security and cross-border advice
KPMG has re-elected Klaus Becker as chairman of its Europe, Middle East and Africa region for a further three years, keeping the former head of KPMG Germany in charge of an operation spanning more than 100 countries.
The renewal takes effect on October 1 and gives continuity to one of the Big Four firm’s largest regional businesses as companies face growing demand for advice on artificial intelligence, cyber security, regulation and cross-border operations.
Becker has chaired KPMG’s EMA region since 2023 and sits on the firm’s global board and global executive team. He previously served on KPMG Germany’s managing board from 2006 and was its chief executive from 2011 until 2023.
The appointment was ratified by KPMG’s EMA board and member firms.
KPMG said the region was seeking to grow work in AI-enabled transformation, cyber security, managed services and alliances, while responding to regulatory complexity and geopolitical shifts affecting clients.
It had increased investment in AI technology, digital skills and international mobility programmes for staff across the region, KPMG added.
Bill Thomas, global chairman and chief executive of KPMG International, said: “Klaus has led the EMA region with impact and purpose, strengthening collaboration and positioning the region to capture emerging opportunities while navigating increasing complexity.
“I am delighted that he will continue in this role and remain a strong contributor to our global leadership.”
KPMG provides audit, tax and advisory services through legally separate member firms. Its global network operates in 138 countries and territories and employs more than 276,000 partners and staff.
