The Spring 2026 edition of The European is out now – a 120-page issue packed with exclusive interviews, expert analysis and international reporting on the ideas, industries and institutions shaping Europe and the wider world.
At the heart of this edition is one defining theme: security. From cyberattacks on financial systems and public institutions to the wider pressures created by war, energy instability and economic volatility, it examines the front lines on which Europe’s future is now being contested.
Leading the edition is our cover story with Steve Durbin, chief executive of the Information Security Forum, as The European turns the spotlight on cyber resilience, governance and the growing urgency of protecting critical systems in an age of relentless digital threat.
The Spring 2026 issue also includes a special cybersecurity section, with further commentary from Durbin and analysis from Cofense on the rise of AI-powered phishing attacks that are evolving faster than many traditional defences can keep up with.
The issue also features The European’s 2026 awards coverage, recognising outstanding achievement across leadership, innovation and cyber security. Among this year’s honourees are Steve Durbin and the Information Security Forum, recognised for their contribution to governance, resilience and workforce development in one of the most important areas facing Europe today. Readers can find the full list of winners on pages 66–67.
Banking, finance and global capital also feature strongly throughout the issue. Readers will find exclusive and high-level insight from across the sector, including a world exclusive with H.S.H. Prince Michael of Liechtenstein, Chairman of Liechtenstein Finance, alongside contributions from PIM Capital Group, OmniBSIC Bank, Dr Michael Kohlhase and Neue Bank.
Elsewhere, the Spring 2026 edition looks at energy vulnerability, sustainability and industrial resilience, with key features from The smarter E Europe, Optronics Group, the St Kitts & Nevis International Ship Registry and Tetracore Energy Group.
Executive education also runs through the issue, with contributions examining how institutions, organisations and families are preparing for a world in which leadership, adaptability and skills development matter more than ever.
Readers will also find features on wellness, nutrition, addiction and artificial intelligence, alongside technology coverage that ranges from enterprise-scale AI capability to leadership and performance in the luxury hospitality sector.
Travel and lifestyle once again form a major part of the edition, with destinations and experiences including the Maldives, Croatia, Salzburg, St Moritz and Queensland’s outback, as well as Stanley Johnson’s latest dispatch from Uganda. The section also takes in craftsmanship, design, fine watches, premium spirits, wine and Royal Ascot – bringing together the cultural and lifestyle coverage for which The European is known.
The edition closes with Harry Margulies’ review of Kalman & Leopold: Surviving Mengele’s Auschwitz by Richard K. Lowy – a powerful final note in an issue that returns throughout to questions of memory, seriousness and the values Europe must defend.
The Spring 2026 edition of The European is available now in print and digital. Order your copy today or subscribe for the year to receive all four quarterly editions.
