SCB now has a charter capital of VND14,295 billion with total assets of VND411,037 billion and is among the top five biggest commercial banks as of total assets in Vietnam. SCB has a nation-wide network consisting of Head Office and 229 (sub)branches with more than 5,000 employees.

Aiming to become a modern and multi-functional retail bank in best servicing customers, SCB has constantly pursued innovative business operations through:

  • Modern corporate governance with reduced procedures
  • Maintaining a diverse product portfolio
  • Expanding market share
  • Providing all-in-one financial solutions to individuals in one destination

Furthermore, SCB has intensified cross-selling activities by providing full service packages, for example by collaborating with other financial institutions to increase distribution of non-life insurance products, with companies such as Bao Long Insurance Corporation, Tan Viet Securities JSC and Manulife, to name a few, all in order to satisfy the optimal financial solutions for customers.

In addition to developing new products and enhancing service quality, SCB also puts emphasis on advanced IT solutions by prioritising high-tech applications such as by deploying information security policies by IT solutions under international norms, verifying and improving the core banking and ERP systems, strengthening the payment system and by multi-channel sales via, digital marketing e.g. eBanking. SCB is proud to be one of the first banks in Vietnam to achieve the latest ‘version 3.2 of PCI DSS’, which is the latest version with more stringent requirements. These renovations will serve the bank’s operation in the new digital age.

With high-quality support from employees and the absolute trust of customers, by the end of the second quarter of 2017, SCB achieved an increase in its total asset base by 13.9% (compared to 2016) and service activities contributed to 12% of SCB’s total income, an increase of 20% compared to last year. For the next phase, SCB plans to make further in-roads in to being one of the leading banks of Vietnam by providing vital all-in-one financial solutions together with perfect customer service.

Following these efforts, SCB has received a number of national and international awards such as the ‘Top 44 biggest enterprises in Vietnam’ and ‘Top 9 biggest private enterprises in Vietnam’ by Vietnam Report and VietnamNet; ‘Best Commercial Bank Vietnam 2016’ by World Finance Magazine, ‘Operational Excellence’ by the International Mastercard Organisation, ‘Best Deposit Product in Vietnam’ by Asian Banker, ‘Top 5 banks with best Bancassurance in Asia’ by Asia Insurance Review and LIMR, ‘Top 10 Asia – Pacific outstanding brands’ by Vietnam Business Council and Asia – Pacific Economic Review are just some of the accolades received.
