Disney has unveiled its largest ever cruise ship – and has revealed what guests can expect to see inside.

The 208,000-tonne Disney Adventure will set sail from Singapore in 2025 with up to 6,700 guests and 2,500 crew members.

It is the biggest ship in Disney’s seven-strong fleet and the first to feature an immersive “imagination garden” overlooked by three stories of family-sized staterooms with interior-facing verandahs.

The garden is said to be inspired by a century of “heroic and heartwarming Disney adventures” that will transport travellers “into the pages of well-loved Disney stories”.

It is one of seven unique “themed areas” on the Disney Adventure, which will sail three and four-day itineraries from Singapore next year.

Other themed areas include Disney Discovery Reef, San Fransokyo Street, Wayfinder Bay, Town Square, Marvel Landing and Toy Story Place.

Laura Cabo, of Walt Disney Imagineering, said: “Disney Imagination Garden is the heart and soul of the Disney Adventure, where our guests will interact with our Disney, Pixar and Marvel stories in a whole new way.

“The size and scale of this space provided us with so many opportunities to dream big and try new things with our experiential design, creating first-of-a-kind experiences for our guests, from all-new entertainment to delicious dining and lots of magical surprises sprinkled throughout.

“Rooted in the rich legacy of Disney storytelling, we’re creating an area that will open doors to new adventures and encourage guests to create magic of their own.”

The Inspiration Garden is set against a “storybook castle art piece” – the first of its kind on board a Disney ship – and will also feature a stage for live performances, a bar, and two Jungle Book and Moana-themed restaurants.

It will be filled with landscapes styled like paper cut-outs, including decorative foliage of blooming flowers, shaped topiaries, tall trees and cascading vines, all among scenic props like towering trellises and twinkling lanterns.

The garden will also feature a mix of popular characters and designs from Disney, Pixar and Marvel.

Disney also has revealed that the ship will feature an “Avengers Assemble!” live show, with “jaw-dropping stunts, incredible special effects and an epic battle at sea as the mightiest Super Heroes of the Marvel Universe face off against their most threatening villain”.

The Disney Adventure will sail from the Marina Bay Cruise Centre for at least five years beginning in 2025 as part of a collaboration between Disney Cruise Line and Singapore Tourism Board.
