Interview with Ximena Aleman of Prometeo
Prometeo is the largest open-banking platform in Latin America. Founded in 2018, it’s an integral player in the American fintech market which has boomed from worth less than 50 million dollars in 2016, to over 2.1 billion in 2022.
Prometeo effectively identifies opportunities for clients by helping them automate and turbocharge their internal procedures through open-banking connections. It does this by using a variety of application programming interfaces, commonly referred to by their acronym API, which allowed 2 or more computer programmes to communicate with each other. This provides a single access point to banking information, transactions and payments to multiple financial institutions in the region.
Ximena Aleman is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Prometeo.
