Spain is still one of the most popular destinations for British people and a Costa Blanca property remains an affordable dream. The Costa Blanca is a 200 km stretch of coastline between the province of Alicante in the north and the region of Murcia in the south of the Valencian Community. The area is popular with both expats and tourists and is filled with pretty fishing villages and sandy beaches. The Costa Blanca has an exceptional climate where the sun shines for over 300 days a year, low rainfall, low humidity and an average temperature of around 20 degrees Celsius.

It takes around two hours to fly to the Costa Blanca from the UK. Alicante Airport, being midway along the coast, is ideally located for easy access to north and south Costa Blanca. Murcia San Javier Airport is also handy for south Costa Blanca.

The Costa Blanca is a cosmopolitan and varied place to live: as well as stunning beaches there are dramatic mountains, lush valleys, breathtakingly pretty villages with white-washed houses, modern resorts, golf, water sports, fiestas and festivals, history and culture and of course great food and wine.

The southern beaches of the Costa Blanca are perhaps a more typically Spanish coastline, flatter and more arid as you head towards Murcia, with miles of sandy beaches, palm tree forests and salt lakes. There is a bigger expat population in the south, particularly around places like Torrevieja, Playa Flamenca and Villamartín. Property for sale on the Costa Blanca is immensely varied and there is something to suit all requirements and budgets. For investment potential, the Costa Blanca is hard to beat. If you are considering buying to let, 12 months of sunshine and the family appeal of the region make year-round rental a real possibility. In today’s market there are genuine bargains to be found on the Costa Blanca, as well as the luxury villas and apartments at the top end of the property market.

The Costa Blanca is a real paradise for golf lovers. It has become one of the leading international golf destinations all year round, thanks to the exceptional climate, and the easy access from the main tourist markets. The golf courses are generally sited on the coast close to the main tourist resorts like La Manga Golf Resort or Villamartín Golf Club, making it perfect for golf holidays. Golf currently attracts over half a million visitors to the province and it’s expected to become even more popular.
